I did a lot of research when looking for the best out of the box forms module. My requirements are very high. Dynamic Forms from DataSprings was the only solution for me. The program's name Dynamic Forms is accurately named and gets the job done and doesn't have the limitations that most programs out there does.

I had a very complex user registration process (100 fields using Dynamic Registration 3.2) on one of my sites, that I needed to be able to search and sort through customer data easier. This module works perfect for the job. The module is very easy to use and comes with great documentation. The support department is very responsive to questions, and inquires.

This product is great and really fills a big whole in DNN, which is the easy displaying/summarizing/searching & exporting to Excel of users. My company has saved a lot of time with this module, and it was definitely worth the money.
In addition to the product working so well, the customer support is amazing. The dedicated help I received in getting the module tweaked to my specifications is unheard of now a days and I would STRONGLY recommend this company to anyone interested in DNN modules.

I´ve been using this module a few years now, and it´s getting better every time! The module has many configuration options and works as expected. Very easy to create nice looking user custom reports- with search -including all profile details, pictures and foto's. Great product! This module is easy use and gets the job done for basic forms. I would avoid using it for advanced applications without thoroughly testing things in a development environment as it was riddled with bugs. This developer has a long history of frequently releasing new features before fully testing them.

I contacted Chad to see what exactly the module could do and what I would need to purchase to get the same functionality as AdvancedLogin. He basically held my hand every step of the way since then. Even without having purchased the full module, he provided one to one support via email until we got everything setup and working correctly. When I asked about the dropdown login and noticed there was no trial he offered a refund if I couldn't get it to work the way I wanted. He helped me identify errors and possible solutions and always responded fast!
I am extremely impressed with the products, and the support. I understand where every dollar in price difference goes!

from my usage it was acceptable to do a basic form however be aware it does NOT handle large datasets well and they try and pawn you their "Views" product which though was more helpful, did not solve their issues. Some basic optimization on the DB layer fixed the issue however it was me tinkering to fix these issues and not a product enhancement that solved it.
more than 20k entries was an issue, now at 80k the form is useless and cannot add more entries.
for lower volumes not an issue. just be sure you keep your datasets small

Hi Gregory - Thank you for your feedback and I appreciate your concern for form entries this large. I can't really determine what problems would be caused with that many entries and the forms actually "Loading" (I can see how this might cause problems with viewing results maybe but not loading the form). A few quick notes... 1. The upcoming 4.1 release includes requirements for DNN 5.x and higher and the module now uses DBO CACHING using the DNN DataCaching routines. This has proven to increase performance significantly. We have also added this to the next release of Dynamic Views or an upcoming patch. 2. It is always recommended for forms this large to utilize a flat table of the data instead of the relational database table that our module uses to store the results. Pulling this data out later is always going to take more time because the data is relational (must be relational because of how dynamic it is). You can view demos of how to do this at Demo 14 and Demo 21 at http://www.datasprings.com/formdemos. 3. One other potential option is to eventually purge/archive this data at some point when the size because 'x' number of records. This is common in many implementations with very large datasets.

I cannot recommend this product enough, it is brilliant and so flexible plus the support via the forum is so quick and good. They really do listen to their users and take on board changes required and if you need something specific (custom change) then their prices are very reasonable for this. I have used a number of forms modules in the past for different projects and this one will be part of all my future projects. I highly recommend this product.

I have tried several forms modules, but in general, they sacrifice ease-of-use for customizability. This module, however, give me 99.9% of everything I could need in a forms module without having to get a special degree to configure and use it. The developers seem to have taken into account how a form is actually used, and I was able to create a semi-complicated registration form within a couple of hours of installing the module. Good job, guys.

At first the real estate module looked real good. Until I noticed some bugs within it. This might be because I'm using it from my local computer. The Advanced Search module doesn't work if one of the fields is left blank, therefore all fields have to be filled in, or else you get a 404.11 Double Escape Error. A work around was that for the IIS7.5 application go into its applicationhost.config and set the requestfiltering AllowDoubleEscaping to true. This may weaken your overall security.
The other issue I had is the Schedule Showings link that is on the property info page, whereby you click on it, fill out the textbox with your information to schedule a house showing, then submit. The info is supposed to go to the person who created that particular listing, having received it in MyMessages. Well it's not working. I'm now trying to work with Data Springs Tech support. They're not sure how to fix it. It could be because I'm on my local desktop computer, with no email setup.

Unfortunately, as time has passed and this module package has become more popular, the turnaround time for and relative quality of technical assistance from Data Springs has declined substantially. I've now been completely dead in the water with a live website and non-functioning Opt-In Email Newsletter module for almost 10 days. Most of the modules in this package are quite nice, but unless you are ready to shell out more money for a paid support plan, be prepared for the fact that when you need assistance, it's going to come very slowly, if at all.

This is a big time saver on complex forms, but I found it too buggy for enterprise applications. In the past I have purchased several other Data Springs modules and had similar results. Most on the issues I have had in the past have been corrected in newer releases, but the developer does not offer free upgrade periods. BUYER BEWARE!

DataSprings Dynamic Registration module made it a snap to create a fully customizable web based registration for my site and integrated easily with my Authorize.net account.
What was really amazing to me was that, when I ran into technical issues with my ISP's database server limits, these folks were able to answer my question on what was clearly a DNN / ISP issue and got me back on track.
I can't recommend this product highly enough. Well worth every penny. Saved me thousands of dollars in development costs.
I'll use this on all of my sites going forward.

The reasons I purchased this module: A trial version was available. Nice administrative interface. Good documentation. Most importantly - it works.
I had tried other modules. One just plain didn't work when trying to redirect based on roles. Another other did not handle logins that first require a user to enter the verification code sent via email upon registering. How the heck do you try to sell a login module that can't account for a site wanting to use verified accounts? I started emailing others to ask that question (when a trial wasn't available) I found others that couldn't.
In addition, when DataSprings sent a follow up to the download trial, I responded with a note letting them know I purchased this module and was very happy with it. It was then follow up with a thankyou and another person on staff offering some unsolicited tips that helped me with the site.
Good support and a good product. Yes, it may cost more, but you get what you pay for here.

The Dynamic Forms module, which we use the most, is a fabulous product! It has a lot of great features that make it fast and simple to build forms right out of the box... and also provides many ways to extend its functionality through SQL and Javascript. The support has also been great - through the snowcovered.com Help Desk and on the DataSprings forums. The modules are also being updated and enhanced all the time.

The service from DataSprings and Chad in particular is terrific. For example, we encountered a problem on one of our sites with the Dynamic Login module. Chad took the service ticket and provided exceptional support in getting the issue resolved. Most impressive was the fact that the glitch was not related to their module, but to some hosting issues. In my opinion, this module is not very useful. Its featured listing and main listing modules are not customizable (skinable) the the look of the website. Further, the support for this module is lacking. They have a satisfaction guarantee, which was not honored. After they told me the module wasn't skinable, they suggested I purchase another $120 module and ignored my other comments. This module was purchased with the reasonable belief that it would be skinable, but it was not. I found another module that was fully customizable, performing ALL the tasks this one provides, plus many more, for 1/4 the price. I do not recommend the Datasprings Real Estate module.

I agree that although you can choose the columns to show on the grid and you can choose the layout for the detail page, the module does have limitations related to skinning abilities. I have been using Dynamic Registration since version 2.4. It has been wonderful. The only limiting factor is imagination. Technical support is promt, insightful and with a smile. The product grows to take advantage of changes and enhancements to the DNN platform. Updates are promt to adapt to structural changes in DNN. Add Dynamic Forms to the tool box and you have a formidable arsenal that is also easy to use for the non-professional user. I just purchased the Collection 4 and can't wait to try out all the other fine integration.

I justed started with DNN and purchased these modules to easily extend my site. The modules have done exactly that and have more features that I expected. I had some minor issues during my first setup mostly due to my DNN inexperience, and Chad at Data Springs helped me figure out what I was doing wrong. The support tickets say 24 hour turnaround, but at times it felt more like being on an instant chat. Being new to DNN the support is probably my favorite part of this collection.

Absolutely fantastic product! I prefer this one to others that I've tried because it can use stored procedures for the underlying SQL instead of only views. We were able to use this to create forms to write to our own custom set of tables outside of DNN.
I did run into an issue with saving certain special characters because our app handles multiple languages but the datasprings guys have it fixed within a day.
I would highly recommend this to anyone needing to create custom forms for their website.
UPDATE: I just had a configuration issue that Chad helped me to get figured out. The problem turned out to be my fault and Chad helped me to resolve it and get things working. I can honestly say that the support is just as good as the module ... well worth the money ...

The Dynamic Registration module is one of the best and most powerful I've used. These guys at this company clearly understand their customer's use cases and are moving the product in that direction. One of the most powerful features is competion events. I wouldn't have been able to build my application without this mod. The customer support was incredible. Had answers to all my questions within an hour or so - even on the weekend!!

Broken software with a misleading description.
Does some things, like list properties, and let people click on stuff.
Eg: Listing page is not template based.
The listings detail page is template based, but the listings page is not. Big difference.
You can add and edit listings, but must do so through an interface that has no easy navigation or search function. Once you have more than a page of listings, it's hell on Earth.
The photo gallery is limited to eight photos displayed either in a slideshow or as a bunch.
This module is really atrocious and if you have the option, my suggestion is to build your site in Joomla, where there are free modules that will provide enough functionality that you can build ANY sort of real estate solution you need.
The developer wouldn't give me a refund, but instead gave me a free copy of their Dynamic Forms module, even though I had no use for it.
I did not purchase the 'Source code', I purchased the 'Enterprise' version.

Does what it says, but came with enough glitches that I nearly got sued after my client had emails cast when they didn't want them cast, subscribers couldn't unsubscribe easily, or resubscribe at all, and the interface was a convoluted mess with good intentions and bad implementations.
After much tooth gnashing and emails the developer cleaned up the module quite a bit. I don't use it any longer though. The client gave up and so did I.
I will never develop a site using DotNetNuke ever again.

Hi. I can understand the frustrations with the DNN scheduler, there were a few versions and also setup/configuration where the scheduler would kick off multiple times. Keep in mind the 4.0 release is over a year old. We did implement into 4.1, 4.2, and 4.3 extra precautions to make sure even if the DNN scheduler wasn't setup properly it wouldn't send to the same subscriber. I did have some hiccups including me not reading the instructions but I asked for and received excellent and fast technical support that solved my issues (however, I still don't read instructions). Dynamic Login works great. Don't let the manual scare you. It's capable of some really neat logins, but it's fast and easy to setup basic login procedures on your DNN site. No kidding!

I started with Dynamic Registration as a stand-alone purchase. After I became comfortable with it, I downloaded the trial version of Dynamic Login. Then, I downloaded the trial version of Dynamic Forms. Because I was already familiar with Dynamic Registration, learning how to use Dynamic Forms was very easy. It took me a while to purchase the Collection 3.0 because I wanted to be sure the products were what I needed and worth the money. I have found all of the Data Springs modules to be invaluable. It is nice to have a wide variety of modules that work well together (developed by the same team). The modules do everything as advertised. Of course, all of this is nice but what if one has a question? Well, no worries here either. I have received support from Chad, Candace, and David. Everyone has always extended themselves to ensure my question was answered and I felt comfortable with the resolution. Most questions can be answered by searching the extensive product forums. Dynamic Registration is both robust and flexible. It provides the opportunity to customize the registration process by offering numerous alternatives. If you can think it, it can be done (or they're probably working on it!) Beyond this, the support that I have received from Data Springs is second to none.

Sorry to hear about your issues. The latest install does take care of the permissions issues but for some reason there were more on your custom config then others. You are correct, at this time Flash cannot automatically resize the images for you and you would have to create the correct size for the images you want to rotate.
This is a brilliant product. I have to admit, that I first had some issues with the installation, but due to the outstanding servcie from Datasprings we were able to solve it (and it was a problem on our server, not in their product). What I especially like about this product: It is easy to setup. You can be up and running within 30 minutes (testing included). But if you take the time to study all the features you discover that you can build very professional workflows (sending sequential mails, handling several mail lists, offering various optouts possibilities, create campaign with sequential mails etc.) It also works great in conjunction with their "Dynamic Registration Module": When somebody registers for your portal he can be assigned automatically to a newsletter. As you can see: I highly recommend this product.

A very powerful package of tools for user management and forms creation. In our implementation we used dynamic forms to create an online store , dynamic registration to handle user subscriptions as well as opt in email and user import. All modules work very well together, and are easily customized.

While Dynamic Forms 3.0 is a great leap forward in the product line, it still suffers from the same issues as previous versions. It simply has too many bugs to function smoothly. Some issues are so severe that the interface will simply not retain setting thus forcing you to update the database to achieve the desired affect. As with most versions relesed, it seems that the majority of the focus was placed on new features instead of bug fixes.

We use Dynamic Forms for more than just forms. So far we haven't found anything that we wanted to do that it couldn't do. And if we aren't sure, we contact support and get a prompt response. We are very happy with this product and would recommend it highly.

Clean install. This module had some limitations not listed in its description when I purchased it. I had a very complex user registration form that contained, approximately 200 user fields. This was too, much for this module to handle. For most sites (99.9%) this works great. I really like the module despite the limitations.

I bought the DataSprings collection a week or so ago and it has really helped with a migration from an old (non DNN) website to a DNN based one.
Especially the 'Interactive User Import' - after cleansing the source data (from the old website), I manged to get 6817 records imported in just a few minutes.
NOTE: I did have to edit the install sql scripts to add 'CreatedByUser' to the AddSchedule sproc calls - but that may be 'cos I'm using 5.1.1

Easy to install, configure, and use! My server installation is larger than normal. This caused an error to display after installation. The company quickly responded to my request for help and we repaired the error. This is a great suite of modules. We are mainly using Dynamic Registration, Dynamic Directory and Dynamic Forms to allow for different user profiles on our site. You can't beat the value for money offered by the whole set. There is still the occasional minor bug, but the support is fantastic. The interface for this module is very easy to use and understand. The features and capabilities are incredible! DataSprings make it so easy to create complex forms and they provide so many features. I recently purchased Opt-In 4.0 from DataSprings. Prior to purchasing I used the trial version and couldn't get a functionality that I needed to work which involved the module accepting silent posts from external sites. Chad was awesome in trying to help woth prompt email correspondence. I then purchased the current one as this functionality was added in the recent release. However, I still had problems as I could not get it to work. However, both Chad & I were able to resolve the issue and I can't thank him enough for his immediate responses with my questions. Most software Vendor's reply within 24 - 48hrs and makes rectifying just 1 problem take a long time. However with Chad's instant replies and desire to help, this probelm was resolved in 1 day. Purchase was prompt and efficient. The module has great flexibility and allows many different configurations. This suits as as our client frequently has an epiphany and asks can we do (x)? This product really makes a site look great. The flash rotator can be placed on multiple pages and as many as you want in a individual page.
Customer service is great too!!!. I had an issue with it in IE7 not opening a page in the _self after clicking on an image but they fixed it quickly on the site themselves. Way to go Data Springs!!!

The Dyn. Reg. Modue is outstanding. I had a minor problem with DNN talking to PayPal that I could not figure out. Tech support jumped right in and found the solution.
I was looking for a custom registration module and this was exactly what I needed. My registration includes many fields, many questions, PayPal to enter Roles and move from one Role to another ... This module did it all.
I used this module for registration and linked the fields to DNN standard and custom user fields.

The product does what it promises with minimal fuss and very efficiently. It has allowed us to synchronise our members database with our website in a very straighforward manner. The only support issue we had(how passwords were updated once the user was imported/created) was resolved promptly and to our satisfaction.

Dynamic forms is a mixed bag. It's extremely powerful but with that comes a lot of confusion. I bought this because of the paypal integration and could never make that feature work. I ended up paying a 3rd party to implement for twice the cost of the module itself...so programmers didn't find it all that intuitive either. The module is solid but the more advanced features are confusing and in the case of simple forms, they can even get in the way.

While this is a very comprehensive and easy to use form, small business owners need to be aware that multiple quantities of multiple items cannot be calculated without customised JavaScript development or expert knowledge of JavaScript by you or your staff. This module is well suited to single price item purchases, you may need to look at shopping carts for more complex functionality.

If you are looking for a simple straight forward module to handle newsletter sign-up's etc. the look no further. Main module worked "straight out of the box" and an issue with the simple Opt-In mod was dealt with quickly and efficiently by Data Springs support staff.
Modifying the CSS files to change the look and feel of the modules proved a little tricky but this could easily be sorted with better documentation. Otherwise very pleased with the module.

The software at Datasprings is very top notch. I've used a lot of so-called "commercial" modules sold at snowcovered and elsewhere and have found most of them lacking. With Datasprings, while their software isn't perfect and bugs are found on occasion, they stand behind their product and support it nicely. I've had a few issues in the past and they've been able to resolve the problem either directly through a new build or through the product specific forums found on their site.

This is a clean installing module. There were no conflicts with 30 premium modules I have installed on one of my sites. The documentation is excellent. The graphic layout of the checkboxs for the opt in's is very limited. This is the reason i did not give it 5 stars.

We are working on the next release of Opt In Email and (among other things) we are working to add more features for layout etc... We have also had clients use Dynamic Forms and Dynamic Registration as the user-facing initial sign up page and only Opt In email to manage lists, let users opt out, send out newsletters, etc.. This might be something to consider or keep as an option if you need the the initial opt in submission with more control over layout etc....

I found the module easy to install and would say that tech support is responsive. The module offers great flexibility in its ability to very quickly allow the user to create forms and post submit actions that range from the very simple (e.g. email notification) to the complex (paypal integration tied to user subscription etc.)
However, if you need to be able to manipulate or display the data, after it has been submitted its near impossible - yes you can view the data directly in the module but you have no control over its presentation. If not for this weakness / failing I would have rated the product a high 4

Good idea... Doesn't work on my clean 4.8.2 DNN install. Wasted a week trying to make a simple registration form. Events don't function as described or create bugs when used in conjunctino with other events or question types.

I just issued you a refund. I am sorry for your difficulties and problems while implementing this module, we have hundreds of customers running on this versions of DNN 4.5.x and higher and we have heavily tested this module against 4.8.x (as that is what we are running on as well). My only guess would be that possibly there was an updated patch / version which you didn’t receive etc… The latest version which should be under patches and hot fixes and which I believe we sent you should have been 3.1.24. The issue you described when using question events while also using the Captcha field. This is a known issue which has not had a patch or release fix for as we are still researching it. The work around for now is to use question events without Captcha on the registration form, or use Captcha. If a fix is not found we will update the documentation to reflect that these two features cannot work properly together.
Customers: Please review the other 30 positive reviews on this module and you can fully test / demo the module before purchase on www.betasprings.com. This module supports DNN 4.5.x (including DNN 4.8.2)

This module worked as advertised. I was able to integrate the module seamlessly into my DNN site.
One nice feature that I utilized was the ability to Import and Export the module from my development environment to production...the process was smooth and intuitive. Other nice features include both Question and Completion Events which offer a wide array of options, both while filling out the registration form and after it's been submitted.

This is a very good module that works well. It saved my bacon and enabled me to escape dependency on some flash guru and .swf files which are such a pain to modify.
In two hours I've created two nice rotating flash image panels that would have taken days in Flash.
My only negative is that there are other modules at the same price that offer a lot more. The Dignuke rotator is one. But I bought this one because it was simple and did only what I required. At these prices I'll have both!

Chad provides excellent support. I was having a problem getting the Dynamic Login module to function on my DNN installation. After I emailed details about the problem including screen shots, Chad called me right back and worked with me over the phone until the module was working properly.
For the record, there wasn't anything wrong with the Dynamic Login module. I had overlooked a basic setting.

This is a great module which helps us to easily solve several issues which required access to custom strings. The interface could use a little bit of styling as it was difficult to see the add button, but support was very responsive, and I believe that this will be a 5 star product in its next version.

An excellent way to consolidate information. I found nothing else that would suffice. Very easy to use and easy to customize. Uses modular .css which is a huge help.

This is an excellent collection. All the needed tools are under one roof! I want to specifically mention three products of this bundle: Dynamic Registartion, Dynamic Forms, and Dynamic Login. We were able to implement a voting system in 2 days leveraging some of the best features of these products. Some key features of this Voting System implemented entirely using Data Springs Collection:
1. Voters finish the nomination just in one visit on one page. They can't vote again.
2. No links for "Register" or "Login";
3. Simple, automatic, behind-the-scenes registration with name and email address alone.
4. Presentation of a complex form with 20 different sections for 20 different categories of people on a single page using "question events" feature of Dynamic Registration.
5. Creation of a user account, adding to a specific role, saving the data to DNN custom profile, hiding personal info from Election Committee while looking at the Nomination data.

I needed for a client a way to create an Order Form based around existing business rules for quoting products. While this is not suitable for a chopping cart, it is perfect for creating order forms for limited (but with configurable options and price adjusters) amounts of products.
I started building this in XMod, however the ability to do complex multi-field calculations based on user input in seconds from the form question edit page meant that I was able to meet the time line (which was not realistic to begin with!).
Some things that are in need of change is better form submission reporting options as well as a form question layout tool that is more drag and drop than it currently is.
The support is great, I thouroughly used it and even had a couple of weekend correspondences with the developer that was a pleasant surprise.
Well worth the five stars given.

I have used several other form modules in the past. This is "the" module to have. The module has an excellent interface to complement it's power and ease of use. The ability to trigger multiple events based on user input is so powerful.
This form module easily integrates with the leading email services such as aWeber, iContact, etc. Add in the integration with Authorizenet and I now have a module that integrates with both my email service and payment gateway making it painless to collect information and payments from users. This automates my CRM process and saves me time and money.

We have this up and configured, already! WOW! this is an easy setup. We bought the UcanUse module and it is Crap!!!!! The most miserable module and very, very unfriendly!!!! I am so happy with this one! So hard to decide on modules based on descriptions some time. You have a nice portfolio of modules we will be looking at. What we have is a co-op that has 100 member companies for our eLearning system and we want to give them a PIN to setup Roles for them based on Company, Trainee vs. Manager and so on. Well we have this proven that this works with your module, yeah!

Solid module. If you want to have complete control of the login module then this is your answer. I strongly recommend getting the Dynamic Registration as well along with the Opt-In mod to have ultimate control of the process.
The only downside is that you can't rename the username input label. This would be helpful in the event you use email addresses as a username. Minor issue but would help with the usability factor.

Brian - Thanks for the detailed feedback. Yes we have plans in the next release for the entire edit page to be completely customized with a template build with the Rich Text Editor. This will provide the layout features that some implementations would really benefit from. Right now you could change the localization for changing the input label but then it would change throughout the portal(s) and not just that instance. Anyway, thanks again for the feedback!

This is a fantastic product, and it completely saved my project. The wizard is very easy to use and has some advanced features that can solve many of the problems users encounter when migrating from an old system to DNN. DataSprings has great information in the forums and Chad is incredibly helpful. I wouldn't feel comfortable using this module if it wasn't developed by a company like Datasprings.

Excellent module. Clean and simple to use. Discoverd it was not compatible with my skin, running in Standards Compliance Mode. The developer was very quick to address my concerns and assist with possible solutions. This experience and also using the Presentation Archive module, make DataSprings an excellent developer to work with.

Superior module. It does many many things. I am no expert in DNN and this was easy to start, easy to set up. I did run into a couple of (self-inflicted) walls, and the programmer was remarkably quick to offer help on problems that were outside the realm of his own module! The module works so well I can even overlook the grammatical and spelling errors sprinkled throughout. :) That's what upgrades are for, right?

Few days ago I have purchase the Dynamic Registration 3.0 hoping that will solve my reg page and to add some more feature…
But, I must tell to all of you who want to have “your own customized registration page” that THIS IS THE RIGHT PRODUCT!!!
It was unbelievable easy to use it – and most important: there are so many features you are able to implement that I am absolutely amazed!!!
Only what I can advice: Dynamic registration is one of the best modules on the market (in my opinion IT IS THE BEST!!! - because it simple solves all my problems).
One more thing – I have contacted via email dataspring guys, and response was quick and straight forward (thanks Chad!).

What I wanted was an online form to drop onto my websites without having to spend time on implementation or money on a solution that did more than I wanted. Data Springs delivered; the form was easy to implement and works. That was all I wanted!
Support was fast and effiecient. Not that there were any major issues with the form (I saw their support was A1 when reviewing products but wondered so many reviews included support - as surely a product should just work). I contacted them over a tiny issue and it was dealt with, no fuss. Therefore support deserves a mention.

I'd been working on a site with Joomla as the CMS for over 3 months and was not at all happy with the results of the user registration flow. It was the best I could get done in my time frame and had hired help to get it done "quickly". This is a must have if you are trying to customize the registration process, and v3 is tight as a drum. The developer group is extremely active, and are always looking for ways to improve.
I can't think of a single negative on thisone.
If you are on a previous version, upgrade without hesitation.

This type of module can be helpful for returning site visitors who are looking to find where they last left of or to quickly find information that they previously found.
The downside to the module is that it only tracks by page name. Therefore, if you have dynamic content that uses the same page then the information is not tracked.

VERY useful application if you want to build personalized TEXT/HTML modules on your site based on user or group membership. Usage is the same as the core txt/html mod except it include tokens that allow you to customize the text.

If you want to add a newsletter subscription to your site then this is the package. We were able to have everything setup and running in just a few minutes. The only downside is that we wish it had more features ( the same features lacking in ALL OTHER email opt in mods).

Brilliant module!! Never expected it to be so easy to understand and implement. i had my new registration page up and running within 45 minutes. i expected it to be a really complicated module, one that would take a while to get the hang of, but this wasn't the case at all. The step-by-step manual took me through the entire process from start to finish and it was an absolute breeze to understand! i was able to achieve exactly what i wanted to and exactly what the module said it could do! Once again, brilliant!

The Data Springs collection allows you to accomplish a multitude of things for your portal. I have used it to successfully setup a custom member registration, put them into desired roles, add them to subscriber lists for and add them to Opt In Email. Once registered, the users can view their own profiles in a printable layout, or update their information. They can view lists other members (Photo view or list) and then click through to view their profile details. This functionality would take a lot more development time from scratch. I think that it is the most comprehensive and flexible way to allow users to register/manage their own profiles. Support is great and the forums on datasprings.com are helpful as well.

This registration module does exactly what it says on the tin, it offers extreme flexibility in a simple and intuative way to allow the easy creation of complex registration forms. It is well designed and stable so gets 4 out of 5 out of the box. What really sets this product apart is the level of customer service that comes with it, which as you can see from other reviews is a major part of the whole package when your deciding where to spend your money. You only need support when you have got an issue and I found a couple of minor glitches when using this module for a private registration scenario, but the sign of a good company is how they react to problems and I can tell you the guys are Datasprings are on the case, I mean they nailed it... I had patch made available within hours of notifying them of my problem and they stayed with me until the job was done. If (like me) you have clients and you're buying modules to extend the functionality of their portals you rely on the quality of those modules and more importantly the support that comes with them (especially without source code) so I would not hesitate to recommend this module in it's own right and with Datasprings support behind it is a bonus. I am currently reviewing their opt-in module. Buy with complete confidence.

This module does not address the eola (click to activate ) issue so in my opinion it is not fit for purpose.
BTW: As an experieced dnner and long time photoshop user I was unable to display a single image.
I want my money back.
Well - it turns out an lod version was still on SC.
Chad at datasprings got back to me on a saturday evening with a fix. Very good - you can't ask for more really.

Wow, does this module make adding dynamic forms to a DNN website easy! Customer support responded to two minor issues I had with a patch the very same day! There are almost too many features with this module and the custom wizard makes creating simple forms a snap. I created a dynamic refer-a-friend form with a customized email in less than 5 minutes. In fact, based on my experience with this module, I decided to buy the opt-in email, too, which is equally impressive.

This product is GREAT! Very simple to install and use and the instructions for installation are spot on leaving you with no questions. We had a SSL issue and DataSprings responded to my email within 24 hours and created a patch for the Flash Image Rotator within a week. We would DEFINITLY use them in the future. The image rotator spices up any site.

Offered refund to client but they were not interested, said they did use the code but it look 3 days instead of the 1 day they were expecting. Weill review code for next release relates to comments posted on standard and documentation. Source was originally coded by a developer who is no longer with us and we are in the process of updating it, at looking over it now though I don't agree with the current review, there is a lot of code and trying to quickly go in a tweak a few items in 1 day would be difficult.
As a 'dotnetnuke newbie,' I needed a module that would work 'right out of the box.' Within an hour of installing this module, I had a fully functioning opt-in/opt-out newsletter subscription center integrated into my site; and the hour includes time just playing with a myriad of bells and whistles that allow for total customization. More so, customer support is second to none. In fact, I bought more Data Springs modules as a result of the experience I had with Opt In Email 3.0.

We purchased this module after looking into many others available for DotNetNuke. We selected this one largely because it seemed to offer a straightforward interface and highly flexible options allowing us to do the immediate tasks at hand, plus a variety of things that would be obvious needs down the road a bit. We also found the license details for enterprise to be attractive compared to our number two option (read the fine print when shopping).
After purchase, we discovered a bit of a compatibility issue with our particular email provider (Google Apps for Domains). We contacted DataSprings, got a prompt response and they provided a fully tested patch within a week. This level of customer support for such an inexpensive and powerful tool is BY FAR the best I have ever recieved from a software vendor. Their enthusiasm to make their customers happy is simply astonishing.
We have now built our first "application" using this form tool and find it to be excellent. If you choose to dig a little bit into some basic SQL Server programming we're finding you can really do some fantastic things, allowing Dynamic Forms (as well as Tailored Text/HTML) to handle the user interface and validation at a professional level.

Pros: DataSprings welcomes your suggestions and may fast-track your ideas into products. Chad Nash (principle) can be very helpful. Modules are good quality; documentation is excellent.
Cons: Response time varies. If DataSprings is currently working on your module, response/fix can be very fast. If development focus is on another module, you may experience longer bug fix time (when internal focus returns to your module).
Recommendations: (Customer) License only one DataSpring module. Be sure that you can use that module for your purposes, and that DataSpring’s support is satisfactory for your needs. (DataSprings) Assign more than one developer to answering existing customer’s needs, handling bugs, etc. - with as much priority as new customer inquiries.

A very feature rich product, allows for all kinds of customizations, yet relatively easy to use. The latest version, Version 2.3.5, has a "Question Wizard" to set up some commonly used form fields such as names, addresses, etc. to begin your form. After that, you can add as many questions as you want and customize all the questions to your heart's content. We are an ad agency specializing in innovative work both aesthetically and functionally, and we are accustomed to pushing the limits with whatever we produce for our clients . . . and this product stands up to our "pushing"!
Dynamic Forms actually works very well with (and has a very similar interface as) a few other Data Springs products, like Dynamic Registration (we purchased that too.) and Dynamic Login. So if you need these additional functionalites, it is helpful and more efficient to use them in an intentionally integrated environment.
The technical/product support is remarkable. During our development of our client's product, the support team at Data Springs worked closely and tirelessly with us to fine-tune the features we need--did I say we push the limits with whatever we produce!? Their effort was commendable!

since you can hyperlink the image, hence this can become a Flash menu on the fly, it would be nice to have a choice of 5 or 6 sound effects.

Works as stated. It has a seperate small module that allows you to just put email address or name and email address for subscription like on a home page. Different departments only have access to their newsletter under a single newsletter manager.

I've been using Data Springs Collection since it's first release. As with most custom modules there are intermittent problems but with feedback and some of the best module tech support around they have all been resolved.
Some of Chad's modules are a must have (Dynamic Registration/Forms/Tailored HTML/Opt In Email)...
They have always provided us either a patch (at no cost)...or significant discounts for upgrades when the problems were related to a different DNN release/environment than the one the module was developed for.

This module does wonders. The level of customization that is available is astonishing. I really like the ability to have question driven events. Essential product ...the registration module I've been waiting for. Future rich and flexible. Has all the key features such as the ability to add any type of question - then the really cool stuff such as firing dynamic events to run SQL or send email - these can be conditional on user response... multiple registration forms per site I have one for home buyers and one for estate agents no need to create a separate portal !
Also in the Beta product I requested 4 enhancements and 2 bugs these were implement and fixed the following day.

This is truly a great module. It does what I've been wanting for some time, that is to create custom registration forms. It has so many well-thought-out features I won't attempt to list them. Indeed, I haven't tried them all yet. But many times I found myself thinking, wow, they thought of that! And when we did run into problems, Chad always responded promptly and helpfully. It takes some learning and doing to set up, but that's the price of functionallity.

Product installed and worked as advertised. I think a better construct than "fill from set" would be to allow categories for testimonials, and to then allow a selection from a set of categories.
If you fill a testimonial from a set, and then you update the original testimonial, the copied version is not updated.

This module would have been great if the developer had actually tested his module before releasing it. Advised him of the problems, which he eventually accepted were issue's and promised to send me an updated version when the next release was out. Get the impression that were actually his beta testers. Well it's December 22nd now and the update version was released at the begining of November and i still haven't got it!!!!.

I could go on, and on, fact is with this the developer doens't even give you updated versions of modules that are availible to you if you purchase them individually...

In general the product seems ok, but we have picked up a bug/deployment issue and support is extremely slow coming. If you buy this product and it works well from the start, it should be a good buy. But after-sales support could be very slow (especially if you need it urgently). The age old saying of quality, price, service pick two.

I purchased another developers $200 email marketing tool - it was so complicated my clients were unable to use it and it had a restrictive licensing scheme.
This tool was easy enough for clients to actually use and does the job well at a good price.

A great product pure and simple. V2.5 is extremely well documented with good text and nice screenshots to guide you through each feature. The technical support is excellent also. I got a response within minutes. Keep up th e good work!

Well, never could get this to work right, I ended up making my own real estate module using XMod. I would not suggest using this product.

While the product does work to a certain extent, be VERY careful as the product description is quite misleading, not to mention the technical support has given me several conflicting answers. Finally it became clear that I was simply mislead from the get go.

I had high hopes for this module, but after purchasing and test driving it I found that while you can load several images, you can only display one image per page load per module. Also the rounding of the corners - the supposed usp of the product - was somewhat hit and miss, and sometimes looked a little ragged when it did work. I didn't realise that I would be limited to one image at a time, and thought the rounding of the images would be somewhat better. I've decided not to use this product on my portal.

I want just as to everyone lost that this bit software for this price really super is well! Especially it one-off can introduce of a poll is terrible! False playing is therefore no longer, make of this software are gratefully I then very awful and I hope that he will make still much beautiful things.

would be great IF it lived up to the description heck even living up to the name would be an improvement.
After purchasing it and installing I got an error, entered a request which was never answered. I finally got it to 'work'... well not error out.
There is NOTHING dynamic about it! Its a fine module if your reports STATIC. You can create a listing, format it, and filter it... but only based on STATIC values. In other words, you can filter to show users in 'CALIFORNIA'. But if you want to find the users in 'OHIO' you need to create another module.
There appears no way to create queries, or filter via parameters or any such thing. THAT would by dynamic and actually useful.
Waste of money!

The Dynamic registration module worked fine for us. However this Dynamic User Directory module did not ever function for us. It gave an error when trying to go into the module settings. Their tech support could not resolve the issue and stopped responding to emails. I have wasted my money.

I downloaded the Opt In Module with source code. It is great if you want to leverage a bunch of code but I would never suggest it to someone who has no programming experience. It does not work out-of-the-box with DotNetNuke version 3.2.2. I am still fighting in making the module working properly. Some issues:
- Localization not satisfying (e.g. "email address already exists" message was hard coded
- Code NOT compatible with latest version DNN 3.2.2. (download with source on Feb 16, 2006) e.g. Email send method and DBmethod changed
- source code was OLD (not as "actual" as DLL) e.g. dnn:label resulted in MinMax error, casting of module settings throws errors
- skinning was not clean
If I would not have paid 80$ I would be happy to test the module. I hope to get the latest code soon (code was dated September 2005!?). Tried to download code again, but still the same OLD code. I expect a module on snowcovered (not free) to be shiny and clean...

This product did not work for me. The installation PA had problems. After a few patches, the installation worked but the module, itself, did not work. After couple more patches, nothing changed, nothing worked.
After I reviewed the source code. It's poorly developed from the GUI, middleware and database(stored proc) etc...

This is an excellent module and Chad at Datasprings was extremely helpful getting me going. I wrestled the learning curve at first, but once I understood how it worked, it was very easy to configure. The service from Datasprings was excellent! I highly recommend this module.

I'll start by saying their response time is phenomenal. Thanks again. Now, to the module. It's not as clean cut as you may think. The flash does not resize the image properly, so it becomes cumbersome to have a 2nd directory to hold all your home page images as copies resized. Not only that, if your transitions move from portrait to landscape they will not transition quite right leaving a portion of the previous image showing next to the new one. Maybe their will be a fix for this, though I imagine the resizing would be too difficult to do on the fly.
That said, it's in use on my site and it serves its purpose, though I wouldnt go so far as to call it elegant.

This module is perfect for polling your users. DataSprings obviously focused on creating a module that did one thing really well, as opposed to creating a module that did a lot of things poorly.
In my particular case, I needed an enhancement to the module that they were able to complete within days. They were extremely easy to work with and responded promptly to my requests.

This is a great idea.
I purchased this module but I am very disappointed, because it is not finished, as far as I am concerned.
My experience is this module can only handle a specific image size, like DataSprings sample page. However, if you use 640x480 images then the images are cropped, severly. If you use 150x450 images then the images are shrunk, severly.
I trust DataSprings will get this fixed quickly so I can use it. I hope I did not throw away $24.99.

I doubt very much whether this review will get on the snowcovered web site, but nevertheless I shall give it to go.
I am a relative newcomer to DotNetNuke and very pleased to be running their software, I wish I could say the same for some of the third party products, as I have been disappointed more than once with the quality or should I say a lack of it, of the software, which brings me to this review on “Flash Image Rotator” if you want an image rotator to just work on the root portal only and all your images are the same size (ish), then this image rotator will do just fine for you. There are one and two other little needling things about this software but none worth entering an argument over. You will not be surprised to know that this software does not get any points from me.
