  • Google
  • Yahoo
  • Twitter
  • Facebook

Full instructions are available on this page

For free you get a simple service from RPX now - if you pay more, then you can remove the branding

To see this in action, see this login page

Note: this module contains the authentication provider to talk to RPX/JanRain Engage. To achieve the non-tabbed login look&feel shown here, you also need to apply these changes: http://www.cirrious.com/Research/NonTabbed_Setup_For_DNN_Login - you can apply these even without the module

FAQs

FAQ's

  • Q: What is the specific site support logins for this, because in the sample is other vs in Description.

A: Take a look at the JanRain Engage website (used to be called RPX) - that will give you full information on what their service can provide. Stuart

  • Q: Is it possible to have the authentication module perform a basic registration as well to spare new visitors the inconvenience of also registering?

A: Not currently no. You can ease the registration flow using the integration with DynReg from Data Springs, but this module doesn't currently automate the registration itself.

  • Q: Hi there. Will you be incorporating LinkedIn authentication into this module any time soon? Thx.

A: Hi - looks like LinkedIn is already supported by RPX - http://blog.janrain.com/2010/02/linkedin-added-to-rpx.html :)

  • Q: Will you offer Microsoft Live I.D. support or is the application strictly open source (Facebook Connect)? Thanks, Will

A: It's not one of the providers I've personally used - but LiveId is supported by RPX - see http://blog.janrain.com/2009/04/windows-live-id-added-to-rpx.html

  • Q: Which of the various provides you support will work in a Medium Trust environment? Also, did you ever determine if Google Apps will work as another user posted?

A: I think everything that RPX support will work in Medium Trust. If you would like a trial license for the Google Apps experiment - then please contact me via the cirrious support page.

  • Q: Hi, Can this module use fConnect as a single link image .. like what you have on your site "http://www.cirrious.com/login.aspx".. the fconnect seems like a sepearate entity.. thanks.

A: No - for that you'd want our facebook auth module - http://www.snowcovered.com/Snowcovered2/Default.aspx?tabid=242&PackageID=13359 - RPX will cover facebook login - but not in quite the same way.

  • Q: Why have you not included Facebook login to this module?

A: Sorry - this area is a bit confusing. Facebook login via RPX is included in this module - but it does require an additional configuration step within the RPX web UI - so it is not visible in the default configuration. Facebook login via the UKNuke Facebook Authentication Provider is separate to this - it offers different disadvantage and advantages to RPX - and so is definitely a separate module and is not bundled within this package. Bottom line - if you just want login and nothing else, then RPX is a good solution for you. I hope that helps. Sorry it's so confusing. Stuart

  • Q: Is source code included in the enterprise version? Thanks.

A: Hi Jonathon Currently no - but I am reviewing this situation - especially as so many people seem quite keen to extend their DNN login's in all sorts of bespoke ways. Stuart

  • Q: Can you provide a demo of this with Google Apps?

A: I thin this will work - as Google Apps accounts should still be verified with Google... but I've not tested it. Can you email me@cirrious.com - and I'll provide you with a demo version. Stuart

  • Q: Does this support Google Apps for Education? Can I see a demo site?

A: Hi <br/> Apologies for not answering this earlier - it slipped through my inbox unnoticed in the post xmas rush - sorry. <br/> The main demo site is still on cirrious - http://www.cirrious.com/login.aspx - although I've now played with the login on that site so much that it doesn't really count as a demo. If you contact me by email (me@cirrious.com) then I'll get a trial version to you. <br/> Stuart

  • Q: Is this the same as the Facebook Connect module but with other connects?

A: Yes - you could think of RPX like that. In addition, this module does offer some integration with DataSprings Dynamic Registration module.
