    A: Hi, The reason is because your DNN is installed as virtual directory where the root directory is not on DNN. Such as http://www.abc.com/subportal, where http://www.abc.com is not on DNN. it will not work well. thanks.

  • Q: While using this module, we are having an issue. We have a few admins who update the calendar on the site. If one admin creates an event, it seems the other admin cannot go in and edit it unless they were the ones to initially create it. Is there a way to get around this or shut this setting off so all admins can edit all events, even if they were not the ones to initially create the event?

  • Q: I'm looking into possibly purchashing you're module. I have a few questions first to ask. 1. Can a user create a private event? I have a social network site using Active Social 1.9.6. We have hundreds of groups, each with their own members. I would need to have the option of creating a public event or a private event where only invited individuals (group members hopefully) could view the details. 2. Could events viewing option be set to only events I'm registered for. I would like to have members of the site see only the events they're registered for on their profile page. 3. Also, on the groups page see only the events created for that specific group. If these are posible I will purchase it TODAY. Thanks

    A: Hi, 1. No, it doesnot support private events. But it is already integrated with Active Social. 2. You can display the Registration Manager which only shows the events registered by the current user. 3. You can't ****ign events to the AS group now. Thanks.

  • Q: We have free events that turn into paid events if you register late. So no fee for the event unless you register after "X" date. Also, events that are paid but after a certain date the price goes up. Does EC provide for such a registration? Thanks, Dave

    A: Hi Dave, Currently the workaround would be: To create a promo code, using that promo code, you can specify the validity to a certain date range. and you can use different promo code for that purpose as well. Having said that, we might be able to work on this so that you can do that out of the box.

  • Q: I downloaded your trial version (5.0.5) and haven’t r managed to get the event calendar working properly! New to DNN all help will be appreciated. We are using DNN version 6.0.2 installed as a website (think that’s correct, installed DNN onto the physical drive and from IE I could see the install dnn files which I right clicked on and converted to an application). I can book an event, view by listing events and access the event info, but when I click on the calendar view entered event I get the following message. Server Error in '/' Application.     A: Hi, The problem you are facing is because you have setup your DNN website as a virtual directory. (Not the root website). This is a problem when your Root website is not on DNN platform. So, once you setup DNN as root domain, you will not have this problem. This is also being discussed in the forum as well. Thanks.

    A: Hi, I apologize for the confusion, here it is to explain in detail: Standard Edition: No registration feature, it means you can't open your event for registration. Professional Edition: Full feature. Enterprise Edition comes with source codes.

  • Q: Hi I am trying to set up the small calendar that appears with the satellite module to link back to the "ListView" and not the "DayView" could you please advise as to how to do this? I have an issue with the module since i cannot tell it what page to use to display the details and i cannot use the "default" page that shows. I have tried "[DETAILPOPUP]" but nothing happens. Maybe this is something you could consider putting back into your options: the ability to select where to display the details and what "View" option would be used by all links using the [READMORE] functionality instead of setting it by default.     A: Hi, 1. Small calendar always link to Day view. so you can't link it to list view. 2. If I understand you correctly, you want to display the details of the event on a specific page, instead of the Satellite module page. If that's the case, you can achieve it by using the token based template. First, you find out what is the link to that detail page you want, and then replace the page URL with tokens. (In this case, you are custom making the READMORE token, so do not use the default READMORE token.

  • Q: We plan to purchase the Standard Edition. If we install on staging.mysite.com, will we be able to develop there and later move it to mysite.com? In other words, our development site is not localhost, but staging.mysite.com.

    A: Hi, You can develop your site on staging.mysite.com and configure the ECR module with up to 10 events only without a license activation. And later you move it to mysite.com to activate the license, so you can add unlimited events on mysite.com (production site). But if you need to manage more than 10 events on staging, you need one more license to activate on staging. Thanks.

    A: Hi, only the Enterprise with Source Codes Edition comes with Source Codes. It is in VB.NET. Yes, it is ready for VS2008.

  • Q: This answer is probably obvious, but I need to know whether I can control who is eligible to register for an event based on their Security Role. I conduct a series of online training programs and face to face workshops. When they complete an online training module they are automatically ****igned a security role which indicates they have passed the module. I would like to allow only those people who have completed certain prerequisite modules (and have been ****igned specific security roles) the ability to register for the certain workshop events. Is this easily done?

    A: Hi, 1. Currently once you setup an event, all users are able to register. But you can control the Register Options to a certain role. That means, you can setup a fee of $500 for users under Security Role A, and setup another fee of $100 for Security Role B. 2. Another workaround would be to use the [IFINROLE|role name;] [/IFINROLE] token. You can place the Regiser link between this tag, so users can view the Register link only after the login and belongs to a certain role. Such as [IFINROLE|role123;][REGISTER][/IFINROLE] But this will be a problem if the users access the Register link directly, they will still see the registration screen. Because we are hidding the register link only. 3. We will be adding the feature to control the Roles can register for an event, and it may be in the upcoming release. So this way, even you access the Register link directly it will check for the permission.

  • Q: I need to allow users to register for multiple classes at one time through the calendar interface (not the bulk registration). If they register for more than one, they get a 10% discount on the lowest priced class. I have verison 4.0 and am considering upgrading. This function didn't work in the previous versions, so I had to create a separate page to do this. Can the new version do this and, if so, how?

    A: Hi, v5.0.5 does not support such a discount for combined purchase yet.

    A: Yes, you can set to allow users of any role to post the events to allow other users to pay to subscribe. but I am not sure what you mean by Community and company calendar. thanks.

  • Q: We have used this module for many sites and are very happy with its functionality. We are currently working on a project that requires the following items: 1. Ability to sort events by type, location, event location and cost. 2. The ability to link to a filtered list directly 3. Has a waiting list feature for filled events 4. Allows payment at time of registration or at event. 5. Allows registrant to sign up for multiple events under one registration form. 6. Sends an email reminder to registrant X number of days before event. Do any of these features come standard? Thanks!

    A: Hi, 1. Our latest v5.0.6 allows you to sort by any content from the event. But sorting by cost may not be a good solution because you can have multiple prices. Unless all your events has only 1 price. 2. No. 3. No. 4. Yes. 5. Event cart is available for users to sign up for multiple events and then pay all together. 6. Yes.   • Q: Hi, is it possible to make events viewable by certain roles only?

    A: Yes, you can manage permission for the categories. and then assign the events to one or more categories.

  • Q: Hi, we are looking for an event module that allows us to create events in the parent portal, and then all of these events flow through to all child portals. Will your module achieve this?

    A: Yes. You can use the Sub Calendars and display events from any other portals on the same DNN install. (Only Host Account is able to use that configuration for linking to Calendar modules from other portals, Admin users can link calendar modules from the same portal)

  • Q: I'm running 3.1.1 and trying to change the Event Registration page. Specifically, I'm trying to make the Company field a required field. How do I do that? I only have the instructions for 5.X and that talks about the Custom Property Category in the Registration Settings, but 3.1.1 doesn't have that contol there. And even if I can add a custom property, I don't want to do that since I want to change a field that's already there. Help! Thanks.

    A: Hi, We don't have a setting to make the Company field as Required. The only way is to make a custom property for Company and hide the existing default company field. Please upgrade your version to latest as v3.1 is no longer supported in the latest DNN. Thanks.

  • Q: do the module support the ability to approve or reject an event that has been registered, e.g. some sort of workflow? we'd like to be able to allow users to register and event and then have an admin either approve or reject it. thanks!

    A: Yes, you can. When you create an event, set the registration to "require approval".

  • Q: Does this module work with multi-language sites?

    A: Hi, You can loacalize the module to any language you want. so it means the module does support different language and it can change language accordingly if you are viewing your site in a different language. But for the Event data, you can only store one language, unless you input both language for your event info. This means you are not able to store same event data in different language on the same ECR module.

  • Q: I have a customer with 2 mobile detail car businesses. is it possible when a customer signs up for a mobile carwash using your product to assign it to one of the mobile detail car business. each car business will be working different hours. would this work? Thanks, Chuck

    A: Hi, I would not be able to tell the answer. The primary purpose of ECR module is to allow users to create events, book and make payment if required. Many of the display are template based, and many features you can switch it on or off. So it can be used for a wide variety of booking and calendar based functions. You might want to download a copy and try it out before you can tell if it works for your case. :)

  • Q: Is it possible to easily show attendees (or people who are considering attending) the other attendees who have signed up for the event. I would need to show the attendees and their contact info (or a link to it) in the detail for an event.

    A: Currently you can show the attendees names with the token [ATTENDEES]. In our pending release v5.0.3, we are able to show ANY data about the attendees with the [ATTENDEEINFO] [/ATTENDEEINFO] tag. We don't have a fixed schedule for that release, but it should be before end of Nov 2011.

  • Q: Need to know how to enter an event taking place an multiple venues. IE the Smith Wedding needs to be associated with the Sanctuary, the main dinning hall and the brides chambers

    A: hi, Currently we are not able to associate multiple venues. A workaround would be to create the custom properties to enter venue info and associate it with the event.

  • Q: We have a need to use the calendar / event module to schedule a 1 hour event for medical screenings where we take 4 patients every 5 minutes. I am using 4.0 and thought I would set up a separate event every five minutes for an hour with 4 seats per event. I realize that won't work because the shortest event is 30 minutes. Would 5.0 provide a solution?

    A: Hi, I believe v5.x allows you to have event with 5 min interval.

  • Q: Good afternoon. I was wondering if when the module is installed and a user registers, it can avoid the payment confirmation fields? Currently we do not want to collect payments online but rather contact the individual after registration regarding payment. Some time in the future we may start collecting payments just not currently. When I downloaded the trial version and tested it, there seems to be no way to avoid the payment confirmation screen. Please let me know if this is possible without customization from a developer.

    A: Yes, but you can disable other payment gateways just leave the PayOffline option. so the user will only see that option at payment screen.

    A: Hi, maybe a little misunderstanding here. Our module supports localization into your own language. But does not support multi-lingual contents. If you want the same event posted in more than one language, it does not support that.

    A: Hi. 1. It is at Main Settings page under Registration & Payment section. Please refer to the user manual. 2. It depends on the event, when you enter the event, uncheck "Members only" then anonymous users can register. You can set different fees for different Roles. 3. Not sure what you mean by this. If you are referring past events to disappear automatically, you should use the Satellite module instead.     A: Hi, If you know a little about jQuery scripts. You can use our Satellite module to make your own slider show. On the other hand, we are going to have a jQuery javascripts enabled calendar similar to the current Flash Calendar in the upcoing version of v5.0.     A: Hi, The Standard Edition license can only be used for ONE DNN Install so you can only activate it on production site. For testing and development, you can use it on Localhost without activation. If it is for testing, you can enter up to 10 events without activation on any site. On the other hand, if you need to have development and production site activated, you need 2 standard license, or Enterprise edition license.

For some reason though the event details roll over, which shows up when you roll over an event on the main calendar, has changed all of a sudden and is now just showing text without the box. Do you have an idea why? Also, my client has a merchant services company she wants to use for online payments of registered events. They use "The Payment Exchange" (payx.com).   • Q: I need a calendar product that can roll up events to a "master" calendar. Example: I have a client that needs to show events for 5 different little league baseball teams. Each team gets their own calendar per page. There is a "Teams" page that lists EVERYTHING on all other 5 calendars and does it automatically. Does this support that? I cannot seem to find one that does. :(

    A: Yes, you can use the Sub-Calendar feature to do that. Using one master calendar to display all events from selected other calendars.

    A: It depends on what kind of profile page. There is a module: My Events, you can use it on any page, if you pass a parameter such as UserID, it will display all events registered by that user. So that might work for you, feel free to get a copy and try it out. Thank you.
