FAQs

FAQ's

  • Q: Is there any documentation or manual for this module?

A: Hi there, the module is really simple, most of the documentation can be viewed on the product page information. The link sample that populate the sample information (in module setting) should make your settings easier. Let me know if you need help or want to ask specific setting question.

  • Q: I am looking to purchase a DotNetNuke 3/4 map module w/source that can illustrate the popularity of specific locations throughtout a city. This module must have the ability to receive votes submitted either by SMS or email. This DNN module can use any mapping technology (i.e. Google Maps or Microsoft Virtual Earth, Yahoo) that should get updates by sms texting or emails by individuals using their cell phones or computers. The more vote submissions a specific location gets, the pinpoint location on the map changes either with a different color, size or movement. If you think your module can accomplish these requirements or if it is just a matter of modifying your module(s) to accomodate this. Please notify me eithe! r by phone or email at my contact info below. Look forward to hearing from you... Regards, Eddie

A: Hi Eddie, The module that I provided is based on one single address. However, it could be altered according to your requirement. I would suggest you to see the Google map API to learn more about adding multiple location points on the maps. You may also find how to change the point marker to other icons, it is pretty easy as there are alot of samples in API documentation. Regarding with sms and email, you may need to create an additional database table to meet this requirement, the table will have fields containing a location name and total counter. therefore, you can change the map looks according to these fields. I would suggest if you could give a try before purchasing any modules, well, it is worth to try and nothing is impossible in programming, just consider it as a puzzle of the day. Hope this help :P
