Introduction

DNNMasters User Directory Manager 5.0 is an advanced module that displays directory of portal users.
The module adds three custom profile data types - MyPix, MyAudio and MyVideo - that allow upload and display of images, audio and videos in user profiles and in directory.
Directory Manager allows selecting profile fields for display (also custom fields), filtering member list by roles, excluding from display by role, sorting by up to 4 columns, searches and editing account and profile data and export in vCard and Excel formats.
Directly email users from directory listing without exposing their email addresses.
Integration with DNNFusion My Profile and Data Springs Dynamic Registration.
Easy PA installation, no core changes. 

Version 5.0 brings performance enhancements for searches, optimized administrative options and partially redesigned User Interface.

  • Q: My DNN 5.5 user manager has 1,500 registered users. How would I be able to inject those users into your module with out disturbing their settings? I don't want passwords lost. I like the searchability your module has. That is why I'm looking into this. Currently, the default DNN user manager does not allow search other than using a, b, c, d, so on.

    A: You don't have to "inject" them. The module doesn't store data in it's own tables, all it does is to provide functionality for existing user data. So all you need to do is install the module, configure it to show what's needed and you can start using it right away. It just plugs into dnn user accounts and profiles. The module will work in trial mode for 14 days (full functionality) so you can test it. If you need assistance with setup please email support@dnnmasters.com with host level access info. Module can be downloaded on www.dnnmasters.com

  • Q: If a user sets a profile field to admin only, does the value show as blank to members or does t not handle the user not wanting to show it.

    A: It shows blank unless you set the module to ignore profile visibility settings. If you do so it'll display everything regardless of user settings.

  • Q: is this module DNN 6 compatable?

    A: Yes, it is compatible with dnn 6.x

  • Q: Hi there, Would this module allow me to create a membership card that my users could print out based on the information that is entered into their DNN user profile? I would like to have a membership card template, where my active users can click to print their own membership cards. All the information is entered into the DNN user profile. Thank you Wendy

    A: Yes, that's one of the features. The Directory View feature allows creation of HTML templates and administrator can select the profile properties to display and print

  • Q: Can unregistered users search for registered users? For example, we are a university and would like to set up a database of alumni's business info(the alumni would be registered users). We want general public (the public is non-registered) to be able to look up for our alumni members on the database. Is that possible?

    A: Yes, the access to search is controlled by dnn access permissions and the scope to search can be defined in module option - both the role(s) to show in search and roles to exclude from search. You can download trial version (fully featured) and test.

  • Q: Reading the description I'm still unsure if this directory can be released to my subscribers as a method of finding other subscribers and emailing them. Or whether it's a site maintenance tool for maintaining users. I need the former!

    A: It's basically a tool for the users to search for each other with some extras like account editing, email and export. It is certainly not an admin only tool. For admin task please use User Manager Suite.
