Booking calendar for holiday homes, lodges and apartments


Booking Calendar is a multi lingual module to install on sites which have booking facilities for holiday homes and apartments. The module is setup for B&B (bed and breakfast), hotel, inn or when bookings from a few holiday homes need to be maintained. The booking system saves all the bookings and via the management page an overview can be held. The booking requests can be approved to a booked state.

Via the DotNetNuke portal you can manage the booking requests and bookings per room / unit. The module shows the booked periods in the calendar. When a customer requests a booking you can approve this request and make the booking. Before sending the request the Booking Calendar checks the availability based on request, approved bookings and blocked periods. The module has the following main functionality:

  1. Make booking request by the customer
  2. Email booking to customer and extra email address when a booking is made
  3. Manage bookings, edit and approve (also reject, archive with logging)
  4. Keep track of bookings for all units
  5. Module settings, i.e.:
  • Full multi lingual
  • Number of calendar months to be displayed (vertical and horizontal)
  • Change day
  • Limit bookings to periods (change days)
  • Multi units per calendar (rooms)

FAQ's

  • Q: Does this module allow on-line payments to be made for a B&B booking?

    A: At this moment the module is not supporting on-line payments. We will develop a separate module for this in the future which can be connected to this module.

  • Q: My question is - can the calendar be configured to accept several bookings for the same period of time? In other words - can I use one booking calendar for several properties? Can I set a maximum number of bookings for a period or the entire calendar?

    A: Yes, version 1.5 allows you to book more than one booking per Calendar.

  • Q: I'm considering this for an "online booking" calendar for my hunting/fishing lodge. Can you update the online calendar to show dates that are open and/or closed due to bookings? Is the online booking form "customizable" so it can be tailored to the hunting/fishing business?

    A: Yes. The module is meant to show the open and closed bookings and will warn the customer if he wants to book again on those dates. Question 2: A lot is adjustable and options (check boxes) can be configured by you per unit? If other requirements, please let us know.

  • Q: How can you manage multiple properties? For example, we have 10-15 vacation rental units, each needs booking calendar - can your module do it?

    A: You can place 1 module per vacation rental unit. Per module you can change the settings for that rental unit. You can manage the bookings per module via the management page. And you can mananage all the requests via one module placed on a central page. So you can approve/reject all the requests. From 1.5 we included more rooms per module. This supports the use of the module for hotels (e.g. one module for all double rooms and one for single rooms) or B&B.

  • Q: I've been waiting for something like this to come along for a while. It appears selection of arrival and departure dates are open ended, some clients I have who might be interested in this module would want to have set week blocks that renters can book - like weekly running sat to sat. (with abilty to override in admin where appropriate to accomodate special requests.) Is this included or any plans to add this?

    A: This is included in the module settings. It is displayed in the calendar as arrival and departure day. When the client books on a day other than those days he will get a message.
